- (astronomy) A spectroscope designed to be attached to a telescope for observation of distant objects, such as stars.
- 1873-1874, Norman Lockyer, Contributions to Solar Physics:
- one face rests upon the slit-plate of the telespectroscope, and has its acute edge perpendicular to the slit at its middle point
