Spanish[edit]
Etymology[edit]
Verb-object compound, composed of come (“to eat”) + jibias (“cuttlefish”), literally “cuttlefish eater”. Historically, the residents of Castro would catch the cuttlefish for food, while in other parts the cuttlefish was used as fertiliser for potato fields.
