Borrowed from Javanese ꦧꦿꦩꦕꦺꦴꦫꦃ (bramacorah, “criminal; defendant”), from Old Javanese brama, brahma (“anger”) +‎ corah, cora (“thief”), from Sanskrit ब्रह्मन् (brahman, “the Absolute”) +‎ चोर (cora, “thief”).
