bottlefeeding (countable and uncountable, plural bottlefeedings)

  1. (uncountable) The act or process of feeding a (human) baby with a bottle, as:
    1. (usually and especially) Implying (when not otherwise specified) feeding with commercial baby formula as contrasted with human breast milk.
      Coordinate terms: breastfeeding, nursing
    2. (sometimes also) Feeding with human breast milk expressed (pumped) earlier, as contrasted with feeding directly at the breast.
