@77.125.11.155: Assuming you're referring to the English operation, the short answer is yes. The long answer is that it derives from the Middle French operacion, opperacion, which itself derives (via late Old French) from the Latin operātiō, which is a verbal noun derived from operor +‎ -tiō, which deponent verb (at last) derives from opus +‎ -or. — I.S.M.E.T.A. 10:57, 17 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
