Talk:open the ball

@Equinox: French has the equivalent expression ouvrir le bal, but bal means "dance" (ball etymology 2), not "solid or hollow sphere" (ball etymology 1; that would be balle). Could the etymology be wrong? Canonicalization (talk) 16:49, 6 July 2019 (UTC)
