Should "az" be "Azeri", but "aze" = Azerbaijani and not also just Azeri? see w:Azerbaijani language. Mutante 18:34, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

I think both should be Azeri. There are northern and southern dialects, but they should be handled the way we do with British and American English. The Azeri Wikipedia just uses "az". —Stephen 18:47, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

No, they should be the same. Both are correct, but I think Azeri is more common and the one we normally use. I would reserve the long form for Azeri-speaking Azerbaijani individuals. —Stephen 19:26, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

User:Dijan is who entered the Cyrillic дили and he knows more about Azerbaijan than I do, but this does seem to be an error to me. dili is the Azeri word for language (plural dillər), Cyrillic дили. Azeri for tree is ağac. I think the definition got confused somehow. —Stephen 03:29, 10 July 2009 (UTC)
