Etymology[edit]
From French Mississague, from Ojibwe misizaagii (“inhabitant of large river mouth”) (with reference to the area where the Mississauga River drains into Lake Huron). Doublet of massasauga.

- A member of an Algonquian people now living in southern Ontario, Canada; also a member of this race.
