Etymology[edit]
From hexapla, from Ancient Greek ἑξαπλά (hexaplá), neuter plural of ἑξαπλοῦς (hexaploûs, “sixfold”), from ἕξ- (héx-, “hexa-: six”) + -πλοος (-ploos, “-fold”), used as the title of such an edition by Origen.
