Hittite[edit]
Etymology[edit]
From the zero-grade form *pl̥h₂-i-, from Proto-Indo-European *pleh₂- (“wide, broad, flat”). Originally the PIE adjective most likely inflected as:
- nominative: *pléh₂-i-s
- genitive: *pl̥h₂-éy-s
and the oblique stem was generalized.
Adjective[edit]
𒁄𒄭𒅖 • (palḫis) (nominative singular common gender)
