Borrowed from Arabic شَمْسِيَّة (šamsiyya, “umbrella; parasol”).

شمسیه • (şemsiye)
- umbrella or parasol, a cloth-covered frame used for protection against rain or sun
- kind of pavilion, open about half round, and capable of being turned so as always to shade the occupant
- (botany) umbel, a flat-topped or rounded flower cluster typical of the family Umbelliferae
