Greek[edit]
Alternative forms[edit]
- φυσέκι n (fyséki)
Etymology[edit]
From Ottoman Turkish فشك (fişek, “cartridge”), from Persian فشنگ (fešang, “bullet”); see there for more. One theory derives the Persian word from Ancient Greek φῦσιγξ (phûsinx), making φισέκι (fiséki) a doublet of φυσίγγιο (fysíngio), but this is not certain at all.
