Etymology

Learnedly, from Hellenistic Koine Greek παράρτημα (parártēma, appendage) and a semantic loan from French supplément or annexe.[1] From παραρτάω (parartáō), παρ- (par-) +‎ ἀρτάω (artáō) +‎ -μα (-ma).
