From καταναλώ(νω) (katanaló(no)) + -τής (-tís). Morphologically, κατ- (kat-) +‎ αναλώνω (analóno, spend, consume), a form of the ancient ἀναλόω (analóō), also see ἀναλίσκω (analískō).
