Learnedly, from Hellenistic Koine Greek ἐτυμολογία (etumología) from the ancient ἔτυμ(ος) (étum(os), “true”) + -ο- (-o-) + -λογία (-logía, “-logy”), semantic loan from French étymologie or German Etymologie from Latin etymologia. [1]
