Etymology

Inherited from Ottoman Turkish یاری یاری یه (yarı yarıya),[1][2][3] from یاری (yarı),[4] equivalent to yarı (half) +‎ yarı +‎ -(y)a (dative suffix with "y" as buffer consonant), literally half to half.
