Polish[edit]
Etymology[edit]
Inherited from Proto-Slavic *ordlo, from Proto-Balto-Slavic *árˀtla, from Proto-Indo-European *h₂érh₃trom, with the Old Polish dialectal change ra->re-. This change affected northern and central dialects, but has since been reversed, except for a handful of words, of which redło has the widest range.[1][2]
