Unadapted borrowing from Hindi मीठा पान (mīṭhā pān, sweet betel), from मीठा (mīṭhā, sweet, gentle) +‎ पान (pān, betel leaf, paan).

meetha paan (uncountable)

  1. (India) A preparation of betel leaf enclosed with a mix of sweet and usually spicy or savory ingredients, much like paan but without the tobacco, areca nut or slaked lime, and considered a milder, safer or more modest alternative to it.
  2. A dessert or other sweet made with betel leaf, such as betel ice cream.
