Etymology[edit]
Probably from Late Latin discalceāre, present active infinitive of discalceō, from Latin calceō. Perhaps influenced by Latin disculciāre; cf. discolç. Compare Romanian desculța, variant of descălța, Sardinian iscultzare, iscurtare, iscrutzai.
