come hand (plural come hands)

  1. (poker) A hand of cards that is not yet complete but has the potential to become a powerful hand when further cards are dealt or shown.
    • 2005, Doyle Brunson, Online Poker:
This has several bad implications. For one, you'll lose the ability to steal pots when you make a small pair on the next card. When you sometimes bet come hands, your opponents know that you often can have real betting hands as well.
