RFD of sense 2. Sense 1 does not specify about the output so this looks redundant. Perhaps it was intended to stress that a record player can also be called a turntable? ←₰-→ Lingo Bingo Dingo (talk) 13:49, 26 January 2018 (UTC)

- Isn't the same true of several, perhaps dozens, of other media players as well? I don't see how that's lexical, any more than the fact that media players can have different kinds of connectors.

- Keep - I think the difference is that def 2 is a part-for-the-whole sense, i.e. a piece of equipment with turntable, needle arm, control dials, etc., which is its own entity, and to which amplifiers need to be attached. Def 1 is just the actual circular platform itself. But def 2 needs rewriting. - Sonofcawdrey (talk) 03:35, 16 February 2018 (UTC)

- Retracted the RFD, I've replaced the old definition with "record player" though that may need further tweaking.
