Can someone please explain the rationale behind removing "(possible)" (and my second reversion) from mad as a hatter from the Derived terms section? From the available sources, it appears that "hatter" likely has no etymological relation to the phrase "mad as a hatter." It would seem informing readers that this is a point of uncertainty would be in everyone's best interests.

Also I understand that norms differ from wiki from wiki, but the straight rollback without comment of edits made with clear explanatory edit summaries would be considered rude, if not hostile, on English language Wikipedia. - BanyanTree 07:32, 9 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
