More commonly an informal spelling of thing. DTLHS (talk) 17:20, 23 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

I did a Google Books search for "index fing" and found some hopeful uses, such as a use in https://books.google.com/books?id=V3g_BAAAQBAJ&pg=PT142&dq=%22index+fing%22&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwj6i-LfvILXAhXqzlQKHSYLAdMQ6AEIRTAF#v=onepage&q=%22index%20fing%22&f=false . Maybe googling "ring fing" or "middle fing" will help us find more uses. Khemehekis (talk) 19:45, 21 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
I can't see the text on that link, but everywhere else Google Books gave me "ring fing" it was a scanno for where the "er" got cut off. Kiwima (talk) 23:48, 26 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
