I think the association with "fazer" is almost inevitable due to the similar sounds. However, I'm not sure that there's any need specially to "explain the /dz/". Comparing "çumo" and "zebech", it becomes apparent that Castillians found Arabic /s/ and /z/ hard to distinguish. 84.63.31.91 15:02, 15 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
