Cohesive energy is not equal to the standard enthalpy of formation[edit]

The Cohesive energy is the difference in Energy between the mean energy of an atom in a crystal and the mean energy of the single atoms eg. N. The standard enthalpy of formation is the difference in energy between the mean energy of an atom in a crystal and the mean energy of the solid/gaseous elements eg. N2.
