New def.

[edit]

Aye, in American English, may also be used as an interjection expressing many things such as suspicion, approval, anger, excitement, sarcasm, etc. It is strictly informal, and I have never heard or read formal usage of the term. I'm not sure if this is a form of hey meaning hello, or not. Does anyone know It's used especially in AAVE. MisterSpellerMan (talk) 12:47, 27 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
