- I think it's because of the n + c combination and how the mouth changes during vocalization to naturally insert a light "t" in the middle; I knew a person who had the pronunciation of their name change from "nsh" to "ntch" over two years. —suzukaze (t・c) 03:18, 16 June 2015 (UTC)
