Usage[edit]

@Metaknowledge: This term is commonly used in the US (to mock Filipinos of their lack of punctuality), and in the Philippines (where it is reclaimed by Filipinos as a jocular term), but should we take note of those in the labels? These are more commonly used in those countries that elsewhere in the English-speaking world. I admit that I have errors in the entry creation. In my experience, that's not exactly true. Filipinos in the US use it jocularly, presumably just like Filipinos in the Philippines. It has nothing to do with location and everything to do with who is using it. The current definition covers that distinction clearly and adequately. —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 22:50, 18 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Metaknowledge: I'm fine with the meaning (to be in par with the notions used to mock African American views on punctuality), but its jocular use by Filipinos and Filipino Americans alike means that it is being reclaimed. Don't we need to point its reappropriation by both Filipinos and Fil-Ams on the labels, or it's redundant with what is defined?-TagaSanPedroAko (talk) 22:58, 18 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
I think it's redundant. —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 22:59, 18 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
