Etymology

Short for Konohagakure (from Japanese 木ノ葉隠れ (“Hidden Leaf Village”)), a fictional village in the Naruto franchise. Few similarities have been noted between Indonesia and the village, including the leaders and influential groups. This pejorative, however, is usually used by Indonesians themselves, although some Malaysians also use it.
