From the surname of Sri Lankan batsman Tillakaratne Dilshan, and scoop.

Dilscoop (plural Dilscoops)

  1. (cricket) A kind of batting stroke, aiming to go on one knee to a good length or slightly short of length delivery off a fast- or medium-paced bowler and 'scoop' the ball over the head of the wicketkeeper, straight towards the boundary.
