Borrowed from Spanish Cacahuatepec, from a Nahuan language; equivalent to Classical Nahuatl cacahuatl (cacao) + tepētl (mountain) + -c (at, to, from). The Nahuan word is a calque of a Mixtec word; compare San Juan Colorado Mixtec Yucu Suhva (cacao mountain).
