Archaic/Dialectical dative singular forms[edit]

e.g. cara, caraid, etc. should these be included (Éire/Éirinn is a definite!). Marcas.oduinn (talk) 17:36, 2 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Any weak plurals in 5th declension?[edit]

Are there any weak plurals in 5th declension?

Yes. Christian Brothers list caora, faocha, and lacha. Originally they all had weak plurals (gen. pl. = gen. sg.), so I wouldn't be surprised to encounter more weak plurals than just these three in older literature. For example, the modern standard language has na gcathracha (of the cities), but in Early Modern Irish, and possibly in written Irish into the early 20th century, it was na gcathrach. —Mahāgaja (formerly Angr) · talk 21:52, 2 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
