Etymology[edit]
Of native Korean origin. From 말 (mal, “word”) + 뭉치 (mungchi, “bundle, package, bunch”).
Pronunciation[edit]

- Phonetic hangul: [말(ː)뭉치]
- Though still prescribed in Standard Korean, most speakers in both Koreas no longer distinguish vowel length.
