Korean[edit]
Alternative forms[edit]
- 꼴시다 (kkolsida)
Etymology[edit]
Probably an extended and mutated form of Middle Korean 고노다 (Yale: kwonwo-ta, “to judge right from wrong”). Compare Central Korean 꼬나보다 (kkonaboda, “to glare at disapprovingly”), 꼬라보다 (kkoraboda, “id.”), which compounds 보다 (boda, “to see”).
