From kʰə̆- (which; interrogative prefix) +‎ mja̠³⁵ ((in compounds) quantity denoting particle[1]); mja̠³⁵ is possibly cognate with Burmese မျှ (hmya.). Compare Lhao Vo kʰə̆.mjɔ̠⁵⁵, Zaiwa ka myvo and Luxi Achang xai³⁵ ȵa⁵¹.
