Karakhanid

Etymology 1

[edit]

Likely inherited from Common Turkic *anlayu through crasis and metathesis.[1] The alternative theory, being that it's a crasis of *an-ile,[2] is impossible due to historical phonetics, see بِلا (bilē), بِرْلا (birlē, with).
